Lisa Shea: Working Toward Better Outcomes in High-Risk Pregnancy
Lisa Shea, Director, Global Patient Advocacy and Engagement – Rare Autoantibody at Johnson & Johnson, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“This week, I’m proud to recognize High Risk Pregnancy Awareness Week and the maternal-fetal medicine and OBGYN communities working to support families facing complex pregnancies.
At Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, we’re proud to be advancing the field of maternal-fetal immunology, with a focus on driving awareness of hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn (HDFN) and fetal and neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia (FNAIT).
Together with the broader patient, prenatal diagnostic, and healthcare communities, we are working toward solutions that meet the real needs of individuals and their families navigating high-risk pregnancies, including those impacted by alloantibody diseases like HDFN and FNAIT.”
The Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine shared a post on LinkedIn:
“June 1- 8 is High Risk Pregnancy Awareness Week!
The week is more than an awareness initiative, it’s a movement to transform the conversation around high-risk pregnancy care.
What is a high-risk pregnancy?
A pregnancy can be classified as high-risk for many reasons, a chronic condition like diabetes or high blood pressure, a complication that develops during pregnancy like preeclampsia or preterm labor, or concerns about fetal health like a genetic disorder or birth defect.”
