Call for Global Action on Bleeding Disorders from Baumann, Christoforou and Klamroth
Kedrion Biopharma shared an insightful post on LiknedIn:
“Global voices on bleeding disorders: from awareness to action
At ISTH2025, we heard powerful insights from three leading voices in the bleeding disorders community, united by one mission: to close the gaps in diagnosis, awareness, and access to care.
- Alain Baumann, CEO of the World Federation of Hemophilia, reminded us that only 1 in 4 people with a bleeding disorder worldwide is diagnosed and treated. Women and girls, in particular, remain largely invisible in many systems of care.
- Dr. Panagiotis Christoforou, Steering Committee Member of EHC, called for stronger collaboration between patient associations, clinicians and policymakers, supported by shared data and transparent communication.
- Prof. Robert Klamroth, Head of Internal Medicine at Vivantes Clinic in Berlin, emphasized the critical role of education and clinical networking in improving early diagnosis and enabling access to new therapies for rare bleeding disorders.
Each voice highlights a different challenge, but together, they build a shared call to action.”
