Gerrit M. Grosse: Mapping the Landscape of Biomarkers in Post-Stroke Cognitive Impairment

Gerrit M. Grosse, Research Group Leader in the Department of Clinical Research at University of Basel, Senior Physician at University Hospital Basel (USB), shared on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in Frontiers in Behavioral Neuroscience, adding:

”Biomarkers are starting to change how we think about post-stroke cognitive impairment – our new systematic review in Frontiers in Behavioral Neuroscience maps where the field stands today and where it may need to go next.

Over the past decades, many studies have linked blood-based, genetic, imaging, and clinical markers to later cognitive outcomes after stroke, but translation into routine care remains limited. In this review, we aim to provide a timely overview on the available evidence, highlighting promising candidates as well as major methodological gaps.”
