Salvatore Brugaletta: Is Twelve Months of DAPT Still Too Long After ACS?
Salvatore Brugaletta, Associate Professor of Medicine at University of Barcelona, shared on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in BMJ Heart, adding:
”Twelve months DAPT starts to be too long as compared to a strategy of short DAPT in ACS patients.
While earlier aspirin discontinuation may be associated with greater net clinical benefit owing to reduced bleeding, 3- month DAPT may be associated with more favourable ischaemic outcomes, underscoring the importance of individualising DAPT duration according to bleeding and ischaemic risk.”
