Nathan Connell: Professional Connections That Stand the Test of Time at ISTH 2026

Nathan Connell, Clinical Chief of Hematology at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Some people have a way of weaving through your life in the most unexpected ways.

David Brooks and I were part of each other’s Cornell University story as undergraduates before we both found our way into medicine. Years later, it was such a pleasure to reconnect at ISTH 2026 in Paris and see him thriving in his new role as Head of Global Medical Affairs at Incyte.

It’s remarkable how careers evolve. What began as a college friendship has come full circle, giving us the opportunity to spend time together again, this time thinking about how we can advance care and innovation for the inherited bleeding disorders community.

Conferences like the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH) annual Congress are about more than the science. They’re also about the people, the relationships that endure over decades, and the unexpected intersections that remind us just how small our world can be.
