”ISTH 2026 Paris.
Some conferences leave you with new knowledge. Others leave you with new perspectives. ISTH 2026 in Paris gave me both.
Over the past week, I had the privilege of learning from outstanding scientific presentations, engaging in inspiring discussions, and reconnecting with colleagues while meeting many new peers and experts from around the world. These conversations reminded me that scientific progress is built not only through research, but also through collaboration and the willingness to learn from one another.
One moment that particularly stayed with me was seeing young mothers attending the congress with their infants. The thoughtful accommodations provided by the organizers created an environment where parenthood and professional development could coexist. It was a powerful reminder that an inclusive scientific community is one where everyone has the opportunity to contribute and thrive.
Paris is known worldwide for the Eiffel Tower, but for me this visit was equally about celebrating the city’s remarkable scientific heritage. Visiting the resting place of Marie Curie to pay my respects and touring the Pasteur Institute were deeply meaningful experiences. Standing in places where pioneers transformed medicine and science was both humbling and inspiring, reinforcing why our work today matters for the generations to come.
I return home with fresh scientific insights, renewed motivation, and new collaborations that I hope will translate into better research and better patient care.
