Kemal Karaagac: Kounis Syndrome as a Possible Cause of Very Late Stent Thrombosis
Kemal Karaagac, Cardiologist at Cihangir Hospital, shared a post on X about a recent article by Yuichiro Tomida et al., published in European Heart Journal – Case Reports, adding:
“This case suggests that VLST may result from the interplay of stent malapposition, uncovered struts, and allergic responses.
Chronic corticosteroid therapy may delay vascular healing.
KS should be considered in late stent thrombosis, even during long-term corticosteroid use.”
