Salih Ehsan: Unraveling the Complex Phenotypes of TDT and NTDT
Salih Ehsan, Chief Executive Officer at Kulsoom Society of Hematology, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“TDTs and NTDTs phenotypes are complex entities, to understand them need a detective work about patient, parents and available close family members ( details history, examination, blood transfusion history of all family members, history of oral or iv iron trails failure, partial effect of oral folic acid or IM B12 , CBC with thalassemia signature, HPLC finding and then decision about molecular testing – a Gold standard) , I try my best to give the taste of both phenotypes.”
