Abdalhakim Shubietah: pLAAO Fails Noninferiority to OAC in Landmark Meta-Analysis of 7 RCTs
Abdalhakim Shubietah, Former General Practitioner at Al Shifa Medical Clinic, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Our meta-analysis of 7 RCTs (7,353 patients) found that pLAAO was associated with significantly more ischemic stroke or systemic embolism than OAC, without reducing major bleeding. Bayesian analysis also failed to establish noninferiority.
Proponents of pLAAO will not like this paper.”
