“A very thoughtful and patient-centered study published in Haemophilia, exploring the impact of gene therapy beyond traditional clinical outcomes.
The concept of a ‘haemophilia-free mind’ is particularly meaningful.
Successful treatment is not only about reducing bleeding or achieving higher factor levels, but also about reducing the constant mental and practical burden of living with haemophilia.
Congratulations to Cedric Hermans and colleagues for highlighting this important dimension of care and for bringing the patient experience into the discussion around gene therapy.”
