Advancing Thalassaemia and Sickle Cell Care Through Nordic Collaboration – TIF
Thalassaemia International Federation (TIF) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Congratulations to Dr. Aba Sarr and Dr. Marte Holmboe Berg on completing TIF’s inaugural Henrik Birgens Fellowship!
From 21–25 September 2026, the two physicians from Norway joined the Danish Red Blood Cell Centre at Copenhagen University Hospital for an intensive programme exploring care for people living with thalassaemia and sickle cell disease.
Their learning took them through adult and paediatric clinics, laboratory services and multidisciplinary discussions, alongside specialists sharing their experience of everyday.
The fellows’ feedback highlighted key priorities: closer collaboration between paediatric and adult teams, better support as patients move between services, and stronger professional connections across the Nordic region.
Our warmest thanks to Dr. Andreas Glenthøj, Dr. Marianne Hoffmann, and the entire host team for their expertise and generous welcome, and to our first fellows for their enthusiasm and commitment.
Read the full fellowship completion report on our website.”
