Anees Ur Rahman: Completing a Two-Week Clinical Rotation at Haemophilia Treatment Centre Rawalpindi
Anees Ur Rahman, Medical Officer, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Honored to complete my 2-week rotation at the Haemophilia Treatment Centre (HTC) Rawalpindi!
Over the past two weeks, I had the invaluable opportunity to gain hands-on clinical experience, including independently reconstituting and administering factor replacement therapy for patients with inherited bleeding disorders.
Successfully completing this rotation and receiving my certificate marks a meaningful milestone in my journey as a clinician. Working directly with these patients reinforced for me that this center is truly a Rehmat (blessing) for individuals and families affected by hemophilia and rare bleeding disorders.
The impact of the Haemophilia Patients Welfare Society (HPWS) Rawalpindi—established in 1999 as a voluntary, non-profit philanthropic organization—is profound and. Dr Tahira zafar is an iron lady behind this achievement.
As highlighted in their records, HTC Rawalpindi serves a community of over 1,100 registered patients in the region, managing cases spanning Factor VIII and Factor IX deficiencies to von Willebrand disease and other rare factor deficiencies.
Beyond essential factor preparation and infusion care, the center acts as a comprehensive lifeline by providing emergency protocols, physical therapy, specialized lab diagnostics, patient counseling, and continuous medical education for healthcare professionals.
Experiencing the dedication of the team firsthand demonstrated the true value of community-based service networks and patient-centered healthcare.
I am deeply grateful to the consultants, medical officers, nursing staff, and team at HTC Rawalpindi for their invaluable guidance and mentorship throughout this rotation!”
