Rachel Rosovsky: Pulmonary Embolism During Pregnancy and Postpartum
Rachel Rosovsky, Hematologist, Expert in Thrombosis (PE/DVT) and Hemostasis at Massachusetts General Hospital, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Thrilled to share our paper examining pregnancy and pulmonary embolism (PE) using data from the PERT Consortium database!
We found that pregnant and postpartum patients with acute PE managed within a multidisciplinary PERT framework received diagnostic evaluation, anticoagulation, and reperfusion therapy at rates comparable to matched nonpregnant patients, with no observed increase in major bleeding or short term mortality.
This important work reflects the incredible dedication of Jane Ehret and Dinu Valentin Balanescu, along with the valuable contributions of the PERT Trainee Council, PERT leadership, and our exceptional colleagues at MCORP.
Grateful to everyone who contributed to this work and helped advance care for this important patient population!”
