Aurelio Maggio: The Mission and The Projects We Are Advancing for Rare Hematologic Diseases
Aurelio Maggio, President of Franco and Piera Cutino Foundation, shared on LinkedIn:
”Thalassemia is a rare blood disorder that still affects about 7,000 patients in Italy, many of whom depend on lifelong transfusions.
Research has changed the course of this disease in recent decades, but much remains to be done to prevent complications and move closer to a cure.
At the Franco and Piera Cutino Foundation we work every day on research, prevention and innovative therapies, from early prenatal diagnosis to gene therapy and international collaboration on rare hematologic diseases.
In this video I share the mission and the projects we are advancing, also supported by our Easter solidarity campaign ‘Giving makes you happy’.”
