David Ferreira: Insights from the 1st National Meeting of Young Immunohematologists in Abrantes
David Ferreira, President of the General Assembly of APIH, shared a post on LinkedIn:
”Thrombophilia isn’t a diagnosis. It’s the starting point for a clinical decision-making challenge.
Today I attended the 1st National Meeting of Young Immunohematologists in Abrantes, participating in a ‘hot seat’ session on thrombophilia and thrombosis.
Open discussion, different perspectives – but aligned on the essentials: making the right decision is harder than knowing a lot.
This is where the specialty grows.
A big thank you to the organizers for the invitation and, above all, for the quality of the conference.
For a first edition, it was frankly very well done – scientific, dynamic, and with real space for debate.
This is how a new generation with critical thinking is formed.
Thanks also to my panel colleagues for the challenging and productive discussion:
Dr. Rita Pardal, Dr. Catarina Guedes, Dr. Luciana Gonçalves, and Dr. Sofia Ribeiro.
In thrombosis, the risk isn’t just in the event itself.
It’s in the decision.
Congratulations to everyone involved. This has to continue!!!”
