Haroun Gajraj: How Much of a Problem are Brown Marks after Sclerotherapy, Really?
Haroun Gajraj, Phlebologist and Board Member of the British Association of Sclerotherapists, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Brown marks after sclerotherapy – How much of a problem is it really?
In my experience some degree of brown discolouration after sclerotherapy is ineviteble
So what should we tell our patients?
Should we avoid sclerotherapy in the summer?
Earlier in the week I met up with Louise Evans
She is learning all about Microsclerotherapy and wondered whether she had over-emphasised post-sclerotherapy pigmentation as a complication. And the consequence?
She was seeing lots of people interested in sclerotherapy for leg spider veins but nobody was booking for treatment until the autumn
Here’s what I told her
- What’s your approach to sclerotherapy?
- Do you avoid it in the summer?
- Do you use sunblocks?
- When you get pigmentation, how do you manage it?
Clarification: In this video I say that the UK has more convertibles than Mediterranean countries.
More precisely, the UK has historically been one of Europe’s strongest markets for convertibles – especially relative to our cloudy climate – but robust, up‑to‑date data comparing the exact percentage of convertibles in each country’s car fleet are limited.
So it’s more accurate to say the UK is unusually ‘convertible‑heavy’ for such a grey country, rather than definitively ahead of every Mediterranean nation.
I’m interested to know what my colleagues in the UK do…”
