Janet Tankersley: Joint and Cardiometabolic Health in Children with Severe Haemophilia A

Janet Tankersley, Dean at College of Health Sciences, Charleston Southern University, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Proud mentor moment!

Our abstract, ‘Convergent Evaluation of Joint Health and Cardiometabolic Health in a Child with Severe Hemophilia A,’ has been accepted for presentation at APTA CSM 2027 in Philadelphia.

Seven Charleston Southern University DPT students worked alongside Dr. FJ Goodwin, Dr. Lori Bartleson, and me to bring this work to a national stage. Congratulations to Marina Andrew, Madison Clayton, Meghan Prudhomme, Hannah Lemay, Courtney Farrugia, Analeigh Givens, and Haley Satterfield. Presenting at CSM as students is a milestone you have truly earned. The abstract will also be published in the Pediatric Physical Therapy Journal.

Every child deserves to run, play, and grow up strong and healthy.

For children who have hemophilia, that means looking beyond a single joint to the whole child: their movement, their heart health, their activity, and the things they love to do. This work reflects how physical therapists can partner with children and their families to support lifelong health and full participation.

Come see us Friday, February 5, 12:00 to 2:00 PM, Exhibit Hall E!”
