”What if stroke treatment could start before a patient reaches a hospital?
That idea is becoming a reality, as American Heart Association/American Stroke Association guidelines for early stroke care now include Mobile Stroke Units.
These specialized ambulances are equipped with a head CT scanner, along with telemedicine, lab testing, and stroke teams.
Tools that once required a hospital setting can now travel directly to the patient, helping clinicians make faster, more informed decisions when every minute counts.
It’s a shift in where care begins and a step toward helping more patients get timely treatment.
