José Antonio García Erce: A Modifiable Risk That Demands Attention
José Antonio García Erce, Vocal electo at Junta de la Sociedad Española de Hematologia y Hemoterapia, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Hallelujah!
After more than a year we have managed to publish this national cooperative work:
‘Pre-operative anaemia and complications
A causal analysis of two prospective cohort’
More evidence on the risk of preoperative anaemia from POWER1 and EURO POWER data.
A brilliant novel statistical analysis by Javier Ripolles reaffirming the importance of PBM and treatment of anaemia.
At this point: is it ethically fair and fair to continue operating on patients with anemia, after months on the waiting list, knowing that they are going to have more complications, more stay, more readmission, more cost or even more mortality?
Can someone answer me?
Until then, I call on the Independent Responsible Authority SoHO to implement the State PBM Program, please!”
