Mavis Agnes Kisakye: Landmark Study Paves the Way for Standardized Bleeding Disorder Guidelines in Uganda
Mavis Agnes Kisakye, Executive Director of Haemophilia Foundation of Uganda, Health Officer, EVD Response at Uganda Red Cross Society, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Advancing healthcare systems requires evidence-based strategies and direct engagement with policymakers.
The Haemophilia Foundation of Uganda research team recently presented key findings from our national survey on the status of healthcare and management of haemophilia in Uganda to senior leadership and key technical departments within the Ministry of Health.
This milestone study provides critical baseline insights that will directly inform the adoption of standardized treatment protocols for haemophilia and other bleeding disorders into the national Ministry of Health Clinical Guidelines.
Having key leadership, commissioners, and the Directorate of Health Services engaged in this dialogue underscores a shared commitment to integrating comprehensive care for bleeding disorders into mainstream public health frameworks.
Special gratitude goes to the Novo Nordisk Haemophilia and Hemoglobinopathies Foundation for supporting this landmark activity and contributing to sustainable healthcare transformation in Uganda.”
