”Growing up with Hemophilia A, I didn’t always know how to feel about it.
Mentors, community leaders, fellow bleeders changed that.
I recently had the opportunity to put that experience into words.
Hemophilia Ontario published a piece I wrote on what mentorship within the bleeding disorder community meant to me, and how finding pride in my condition changed the way I show up for myself and for others.
I’m sharing it here because I think it speaks to something larger than my own story.
The bleeding disorder community is small, tight-knit, and profoundly shaped by the people willing to show up for one another.
That’s what drew me into this work, and what keeps me in it.”
