Rosa Hart: Inside Pediatric Stroke Recovery with Dr. Catherine Schuster
Rosa Hart, Owner of Rosa Hart Media Consulting LLC, shared a post on LinkedIn:
”Pediatric stroke is rare, but when it happens, the path forward requires a team that knows how to meet a child exactly where they are and grow with them.
On this episode, I sat down with Dr. Catherine Schuster, dual board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and pediatric rehabilitation medicine.
She is one of the specialists at Norton Children‘s who guides young stroke survivors from the hospital bed all the way through adolescence and beyond.
Dr. Schuster walks through what pediatric stroke rehabilitation actually looks like in practice: early positioning to prevent complications, managing the shift from flaccid weakness to spasticity, adaptive tools, creative problem-solving, and how to advocate fiercely through insurance and resource gaps.
One thing she said that will stay with me: children’s resilience is real, but so is the work that families have to do to keep showing up and asking for what their child needs.
If you are a parent, caregiver, clinician, or advocate connected to a child who has experienced stroke, this episode is for you.
Listen now.”
