Salmaan Dalvi: Mapping Rare Diseases Across East and Central Africa
Salmaan Dalvi, Vice Chair and Honorary Chapter Head at Connect Souq, Chief Executive Officer(Hon) at RCMRegistry, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Mapping Rare Diseases Across East and Central Africa
Rare diseases are only ‘rare’ until they are systematically identified and recorded.
Across East, Central and Southern Africa, the absence of structured registry data continues to delay diagnosis, distort prevalence estimates, and limit access to advanced therapies.
Under CATRDR, we are building an ancestry-linked, ethically governed registry framework to support clinical intelligence, research collaboration, and regulated treatment pathways.
Community members, clinicians, and institutions are invited to participate:
Structured data today enables equitable access tomorrow.”
