Serah N. Gathu: Gaining Valuable Updates on ACS Management at the Africa STEMI Conference
Serah N. Gathu, Clinical Pharmacist and Antimicrobial Stewardship Consultant, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Acute Coronary Syndromes
Attending the Africa STEMI Conference was an insightful and enriching experience as a Clinical Pharmacist.
The sessions provided valuable updates on acute coronary syndrome management, specifically the PCI methods.
I appreciated the discussions around timely intervention, antithrombotic therapy optimization, and the importance of collaborative care in managing STEMI patients.
Continuous learning and professional interaction remain key in advancing healthcare delivery and improving patient outcomes.
Our role as clinical pharmacists is
- Dose optimization,
- Identification of contraindications
- Prevention of drug interactions, and
- Monitoring adverse drug reactions, especially in critically ill patients.
Grateful for the opportunity to learn, engage, and grow professionally.”
