Sarah-Jane Nkrumah: Giving a Wider Understanding to Those Living With Sickle Cell
Sarah-Jane Nkrumah, Founder of Sickle Cell Unite, posted on LinkedIn:
”One of our recent posts seemed to really resonate with many living with sickle cell, we’ve received many messages on these statements that make them feel. I liked to share them on my profile to give a wider understanding.
These are personal takes we have encountered over the years from those living with Sickle Cell. They may not apply to everybody, as everybody is different, but just a heads up, as it usually is a shared thought.
Over the years, we have heard these things from many warriors; it’s not that they don’t appreciate the support, it’s just that these phrases can come at the wrong times. There are also things that have been said over and over again and are not what people who are in pain may want to hear at that time. This is to help become more aware.
Save this for awareness.
Share so others can also understand.
Comment on something you may be tired of hearing. Repost if you can relate.”

Keep up with Hemostasis Today.
