William Aird։ Not Every Clot Is DOAC Failure
William Aird, Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, shared a post on X:
”I recently posted a poll: TIPS occlusion on apixaban, how do you frame this?
We’re quick to say ‘DOAC failure.’
But most of you didn’t.
You called it what it is: a flow problem.
Anticoagulation prevents clot propagation.
It doesn’t overcome stasis.”
