Heghine Khachatryan: Did You Know VWD Comprises 3 Main Types?

Heghine Khachatryan, Editor-in-Chief of Hemostasis Today, Head of Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center at Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center, reposted from WFH on LinkedIn:

”Did you know?

Von Willebrand disease (VWD) comprises three main types (types 1, 2, and 3), with multiple subtypes.

Each type is characterized by distinct clinical manifestations, variable bleeding severity, and therefore requires individualized diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.

Accurate classification is essential for optimal patient management and outcomes.

To deepen your knowledge, follow the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) educational resources and eLearning modules for evidence-based learning and clinical updates.”

Quoting World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH)‘s post:

”Did you know: There are three types of VWD – types 1, 2 and 3, and several sub-types – which require individualized treatments.

Bleeding symptoms and severity can also be quite variable within each type.

Learn more about VWD.”
