Michael Makris Shares Peter Foster’s Letter To The Editor on Infected Blood Inquiry in the UK
Michael Makris, Emeritus Professor of Haemostasis and Thrombosis at the University of Sheffield, UK. Editor-in-Chief of Research and Practice in Thrombosis and Haemostasis, shared a post on LinkedIn:
”An important letter to the editor has just been published in the journal Haemophilia.
In this letter Peter Foster, questions why the plasma fractionation experts were not invited to give oral evidence to the Infected Blood Inquiry in the UK. He argues that this failure led to several inaccuracies in the conclusions of the Inquiry. In his letter he concludes that had the advice suggested by the Inquiry been followed, more persons with haemophilia would have been infected with HIV in the UK.”
