Pulmonary Hypertension Shortens Survival in Polycythemia Vera
Hematology Advisor shared a post on X:
“In patients with polycythemia Vera, the presence of pulmonary hypertension was found to be associated with worse OS in a study with results reported in the journal Blood Advances.”
A recent analysis in Blood Advances shows that polycythemia vera patients who develop pulmonary hypertension have significantly reduced overall survival. These data underscore the value of routine ECHO screening and early PH management in polycythemia vera care.
