ASH is Continuing Its Advocacy to Protect Vulnerable Children
American Society of Hematology (ASH) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“The American Society of Hematology is continuing its advocacy to protect vulnerable children. After submitting comments to the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) in September, ASH has reinforced its message ahead of the December meeting:
➡ Maintain the current child and adolescent immunization schedule.
➡ Preserve Hepatitis B vaccine protocols.
Children with hematologic conditions—such as sickle cell disease, leukemia, hemophilia, and other blood disorders—are immunocompromised and face heightened risks from infections that vaccines can prevent. Vaccines are not just preventive; they are lifesaving.
