“Please share the news of the launch of the free, online, self-paced ‘WHO Good Practices for Clinical Trial Design and Implementation’ course and Stand With Science in 2026.
4 May 2026 13:00 – 14:00 CET Online only.
The course is designed for learners with little or no hands-on experience in conducting clinical trials, though a basic theoretical understanding of standard trial designs and key research concepts is assumed.
Hear from the WHO Chief Scientist, Dr Sylvie Briand, and those who have already completed the course, our course ambassadors, about what you will learn including:
How well-designed clinical trials contribute to addressing critical health challenges and supporting evidence-informed healthcare decisions.
The key scientific and ethical considerations for clinical trials as outlined in the WHO Guidance published in 2024.
How these considerations form an agile, principles-based framework for designing and conducting clinical trials.
The course may be particularly valuable for:
- Clinical trial site staff and funders
- Healthcare professionals involved in clinical research
- Data managers and statisticians
- Research Ethics Committee members
- National Regulatory staff responsible for CT oversight and auditors
- Patients and community members with some background in health or research
