‘Intrinsic activated thrombin generation for treatment efficacy and monitoring of octocog alfa and emicizumab in severe hemophilia A’
Conventional laboratory assays fall short for monitoring emicizumab in severe hemophilia A.
We developed PPP Reagent INT, a novel intrinsic pathway thrombin generation assay (TGA) reagent, and showed it is sixfold more sensitive to emicizumab levels than tissue factor-based reagents in patient plasma, with sensitivity down to very low concentration ranges relevant for dose-reduction strategies.
The choice of TGA reagent should match the mechanism of action of the treatment.
