Grace Gorecki: Early IVIG Accelerates Platelet Recovery in HIT
Grace Gorecki, Aspiring Medical Oncologist, shared a post on X about a recent article by Jivtesh Singh et al, published in JTH, adding:
“Excited to share our new paper in JThrombHaemost!
We found early IVIG (less than 3 days) in HIT was linked to faster platelet recovery vs standard of care: median 3 vs 5 days (HR 2.15).
No difference in thrombosis, bleeding, or death.”
Title: Intravenous immunoglobulin use in heparin-induced thrombocytopenia and efficacy of early intravenous immunoglobulin compared with standard-of-care treatment
