I recently came across a review discussing the potential of plant-derived extracellular vesicles (PDEVs) in drug delivery.
Some highlights:
• Natural Carriers: PDEVs naturally encapsulate bioactive molecules like proteins, lipids, and RNAs, which can synergize with therapeutic agents.
• Biocompatibility: Being plant-based, they exhibit low immunogenicity, reducing potential adverse reactions.
• Stability: PDEVs demonstrate resilience under various conditions, ensuring the integrity of encapsulated drugs.
• Scalability: Plants offer a sustainable and scalable source for vesicle production, facilitating large-scale applications.
