”Last week, our General Manager Dimitris Papageorgiou, highlighted the vital role of Plasma and Plasma-Derived Therapies for patients and society by participating in the 1st Conference of “ARMONIA” Patient Association, titled “Living with Primary Immunodeficiency: Access, Treatment, Support.”
Plasma is a true “gift of life”, enabling life-saving treatments for people with rare and complex diseases, often with no alternative therapeutic options.
Yet Europe – including Greece – remains heavily dependent on plasma collected in the US to meet its needs.
Greece also shows lower per capita consumption of PDTs compared with many EU countries, underlining the need for a modern National Plasma Framework that will: accurately capture patients’ real needs, ensure adequate supply and uninterrupted access and encourage plasma donations.
