”Proud to present at the Oslo HEMS Conference 2025!
Today, I had the privilege of presenting my scientific poster on stroke symptom recognition and first aid response among laypersons in Slovenia at the Oslo HEMS Conference.
An incredible international platform for sharing knowledge and best practices in emergency medicine and HEMS.
Key insights from our study:
- 91.4% recognise stroke as a medical emergency
- 70.7% are familiar with the FAST acronym
- Yet, 6.7% would still incorrectly give food or drink during suspected stroke — a potentially dangerous action
Stroke Symptom Recognition and …
The message is clear: awareness is good, but targeted education is still crucial.
Early recognition and correct bystander response can significantly reduce prehospital delays and improve outcomes.
