Alyssa George on Clinical and Economic Impact of a Eptacog Beta
Alyssa George, Clinical Pharmacist at Henry Ford Health, shared on LinkedIn:
”I am excited to share that my medication use evaluation looking at the use of recombinant factor VIIa has been published in Clinical and Applied Thrombosis and Hemostasis!
For the last two years, we have been working on putting together this manuscript to report our clinical experiences and economical savings with a recombinant factor VIIa formulary interchange from eptacog alfa to eptacog beta.
We successfully used eptacog beta for several labeled and off-label indications, including bleeding and peri-operative management for those with acquired or congenital hemophilia A/B, delta granule storage pool disorder, and intra-operative coagulopathy during cardiac surgery.
We found no incidence of thrombotic events and a low rate of bleeding complications.
For those interested, the article is linked below.
I would like to thank my preceptors Katelyn Sylvester and Dareen Kanaan for all of their hard work on helping me get this manuscript published!”
