Matthew Flick on SARS-CoV-2 Spike Protein and Coagulation Biology

Matthew Flick, Professor at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, shared on LinkedIn:

”I’m excited to report that our latest publication is now available online in Blood Advances – Blood Journals Portfolio.

Here we provide data supporting the idea that the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein conditionally binds fibrin(ogen), but we refute the concept that it influences plasma clot fibrin formation, structure, or lysis.

Outstanding work by lead author Kadri Kangro. Another amazing collaboration with my colleague Alisa Wolberg and her team, namely Samer Issa.”
