”Delighted to share that our mid-term review and update of the Stroke Action Plan for Europe 2018–2030 (SAP-E) has been published in the European Stroke Journal (2026).
This update aims to reflect and respond to the major challenges of stroke care across Europe in 2025, spanning the entire chain of care, from prevention and acute pathways to rehabilitation and long-term follow-up, while strengthening targets and accountability toward 2030.
My sincere thanks to Valeria Caso, Francesca Romana Pezzella, and Hanne Christensen for leading such a complex, important, and truly impactful effort, and to all co-authors and contributors across Europe.”
