William Aird, Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, shared an insightful post on X:
”I posted a poll asking for the most likely cause of pancytopenia in a patient with anorexia nervosa.
Many answered correctly: BM atrophy (gelatinous transformation).
Deficiencies of B12, folate, copper, and Fe are rare in this setting.”
