Flora Peyvandi: What Can Be Alternative to Warfarin
Flora Peyvandi, Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Milan and former President of ISTH, shared a post on X about a recent article by James H. Morrissey, published in ASH Publications:
“Warfarin may be more effective in high-thrombotic-risk conditions because it lowers prothrombin levels, a clotting protein with a long half-life (60–72 hours).
This long half-life helps smooth out fluctuations in drug effect over time.”
