Anne de Vaan: The Results of the PRIDES Study Are Now Available
Anne de Vaan, Resident Physician at Gelderse Vallei Hospital shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article co-authored by her and her colleagues, published in JTH, adding:
“Happy to share that the results of the PRegnancy and Inherited bleeding DisordErS (PRIDES) study are now available online at the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (JTH).
In the PRIDES study we studied the impact of clotting factor supplementation during childbirth in women with Von Willeband Disease and Hemophila Carriers with third trimester clotting factor levels lower than 80 IU/dL instead of lower than 50 IU/dL.
We aimed for peak target levels of atleast 150 IU/dL instead of 100 IU/dL.
Earlier and higher-dosed clotting factor supplementation in women with Von Willeband and in Hemophilia Carriers results in similar risks for postpartum hemorrhage.
Adverse events, such as postpartum trombosis or blood transfusions, occurred at similar rates.
Quality of life results will be available online shortly.
These articles are part of my dissertation which I will defend on May 20th 2026.”
