Louise Bannon on WHO Global Guide to Advance Respectful Maternal and Newborn Care Launched
Louise Bannon, Global Communications Leader, University of North Carolina at Charlotte, reposted from World Health Organization (WHO) on LinkedIn:
”Every woman deserves safe, respectful, and equitable care, not only during pregnancy and childbirth, but throughout her entire health journey.
At the ISTH, we recognize that bleeding and clotting disorders can significantly impact maternal and newborn outcomes. Delays in diagnosis, lack of access to care, and stigma around women’s health contribute to preventable harm.
As part of our global public affairs efforts, we are committed to raising awareness, advocating for access to essential diagnostics and care, and supporting research that improves outcomes for women and their babies.
Let’s work together to ensure no woman is left behind.”
WHO shared on LinkedIn:
‘Every woman and their baby deserves safe, respectful care.
Yet, mistreatment during pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period remains far too common in many parts of the world.
It doesn’t have to be this way.
Dignity, equity and respect must be part of every aspect of maternal and newborn care.’
