“I’ve been writing about my experiences with aortic disease, medical trauma, self-advocacy, and life as a genetic counselor who is also the patient for a few years now — mostly here on LinkedIn.
It’s been one of the most meaningful things I’ve done professionally and personally.
I’m expanding that effort to Medium in order to reach more people who might benefit from the lessons I’ve learned along the way.
I’ll still be here on LinkedIn, but Medium gives me the space to go deeper and to connect with readers I might not otherwise reach — patients, families, caregivers, and anyone navigating a healthcare system that wasn’t designed for complexity.
