Ming Y Lim: Demonstrating the Value of Upfront Emicizumab at ISTH 2026
Ming Y Lim, Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Utah, shared on LinkedIn:
”What makes ISTH special is the people.
Every meeting is an opportunity to connect with colleagues across disciplines, exchange ideas, learn from one another, and build collaborations that ultimately improve outcomes for patients around the world.
At ISTH 2026 in Paris, I had the privilege of presenting at the SSC Factor VIII, Factor IX, and Rare Coagulation Disorders Subcommittee led by Susan Shapiro, met with the Dengue Infection in Congenital Bleeding Disorders Working Group led by Nongnuch-Nong Sirachainan, and presenting a poster on the cost-effectiveness of upfront emicizumab use in hospitalized patients with acquired hemophilia A.
Judging by the photo, I was clearly having fun engaging with colleagues who stopped by the poster and shared their insights and questions!
Spoiler alert: Adding upfront emicizumab to standard of care was both more effective and less costly, even at current emicizumab pricing.
So grateful for the opportunity to learn from and collaborate with so many outstanding colleagues, and proud to be part of the ISTH community.”
