Meaghan O’Donnell: Highlighting Global Gaps in Haemophilia Carrier Registration at ISTH 2026

Meaghan O’Donnell, Medical Student at Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), shared on LinkedIn:

”I was delighted to present my work at the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH) Congress 2026 in Paris, France.

I had the privilege of representing the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) to share my work entitled ‘Haemophilia Carriers – Largely Absent from National Bleeding Disorder Registries’.

We analysed the World Federation of Haemophilia (WFH) Annual General Survey (AGS) 2023 data to identify patterns and disparities in Haemophilia Carrier registrations internationally.

A huge thank you to my supervisor Dr. Michelle Lavin for her ongoing support, to my co-authors, and to everyone who contributed to and is involved in the WFH AGS.

This congress is always a highlight, providing the opportunity to engage in insightful conversations and form connections with experts and colleagues within the bleeding disorder community.”
