Munira Borhany, Hematologist/hemato‐oncologist at Dr. Ziauddin Hospital and Midciti Hospital, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article she and her colleagues co-authored published in The Lancet Haematology Commissions, adding:
“A privilege to have contributed as a co-author to the Lancet Haematology Commission launched during ISTH 2026 in Paris.
The focus of this publication was on ‘Sexism in Healthcare’ and the Commission shed light on the urgent need to reduce mortality, improve health outcomes, and achieve equity for women living with classical haematological diseases. Pdf is attached so please do read and share.
At the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH), I had the privilege of moderating a scientific session on Women’s Health and von Willebrand disease (vWD) and presenting on Heavy Menstrual Bleeding in women with inherited bleeding disorders, a topic that remains under-recognised despite its significant impact on the health and quality of life of women and girls worldwide.
I am grateful to my fellow Commission authors, colleagues, and to the ISTH community for their dedication to advancing equitable care for women with haematological disorders.”
