Arwa Z. Al-Riyami, Board Member of Oman Medical Journal, Forum Editor at International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT), shared a post on LinkedIn:
”As an Omani and Chairperson of the Local Organizing Committee, it is difficult not to feel a sense of sadness that we will not be welcoming our guests to Muscat as originally planned for the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) 2027 Congress.
In Oman, hospitality is deeply personal — welcoming people, bringing them together, and making them feel at home is part of who we are.
The decision was made with a shared commitment to delivering the best possible congress and experience for our international community. Our focus now is on making the most of the additional time and continuing to work closely with ISBT to deliver an exceptional congress and experience for our global attendees.
When we welcome you to Muscat in 2029, we want you to experience more than a conference. We want you to experience Oman — its people, its hospitality, its culture and peace, and its unique ability to bring people together.
We are sorry that we have to wait a little longer, but we are confident that we will see you in Muscat in 2029.
My sincere thanks to ISBT for the trust, support, and continued partnership throughout this process.
ISBT Muscat 2029 will be worth the wait.
