“From iron to immunity, prevention begins with awareness – and awareness begins with the right conversation.
Truly a great experience and privilege to have meaningful interaction with young women at Government PG College for Women, Rohtak, on ‘Own Your Health: What Every Young Woman Should Know.’
As an Infectious Diseases specialist, I spoke about gut and vaginal health, UTIs, menstrual hygiene, infection prevention, HPV vaccination and cervical cancer prevention – everyday issues that deserve open, stigma-free conversations.
Alongside, Devyani Surange brilliant hematologist, highlighted the importance of iron, haemoglobin, nutrition and early recognition of anemia, an often-overlooked issue with a significant impact on the health and well-being of young women.
The most rewarding part was the openness, curiosity and questions from the students – because health literacy at a young age can translate into prevention for a lifetime.
Lets Pledge for 3 P- Pay attention to yourself, P – prevent and P- Protect.
