Khalid Ahmed: Mortality and Survival in Young People With Sickle Cell Disease and Beta Thalassaemia in England 1997 to 2025
Khalid Ahmed, Haematology Registrar at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I’m incredibly grateful and delighted to have had the chance to present the National mortality and survival data for young people with sickle cell disease and beta thalassaemia in England (1997 to 2025) on behalf of my colleagues at the prestigious ASCAT 2026 conference in London.
This is a crucial component of the HALO research project, which examines the outcomes of young people with sickle cell disease and beta thalassaemia in England.
The data will be published very soon and will be highly significant to the haematology community both in the UK and worldwide.”
